When is a temporary SMS number actually available?
The directory, current offer, assigned number and received SMS are four different stages. Read the latest stage shown for your country and service before deciding what to do next.
Four stages, four different facts
For example, seeing France in a list means you can select France. It does not mean a French number is currently in stock for your selected service. An assigned French number still does not prove that the sender will accept it or send a code.

If a country or service is absent
First check the outside platform's exact country and service requirement. If the needed entry is not in this directory, there is no selectable pair here for that request. Do not switch to another country solely because it appears in the list; a different calling code may not be allowed.
If the platform permits several countries, compare those allowed entries while keeping the intended service constant. Each pair needs its own live offer. If the platform requires a mobile or non-VoIP line and an offer does not establish that type, treat compatibility as unresolved rather than reading it from a prefix or a price.
If the offer shows no stock or price
Add carries the selected country-service pair into the dashboard; it does not reserve inventory. If current stock is zero, no number can be assigned from that offer at that moment. If stock or USD price is unknown, the site does not fill in an estimate or present a confirmed purchase. You may return later or consider another country only if the sender permits it.
A positive quote is a snapshot. Inspect it again immediately before confirmation because price and stock may change. The $20 minimum crypto top-up is a separate deposit to account balance; it does not reveal the activation price or make a missing offer available.
If the number was not assigned
An assignment failure is different from a waiting order with a number but no SMS. Read the recorded order and balance history before trying again. If the attempt is still uncertain, use its available recovery action rather than assuming nothing happened. Keep the order ID and balance entry for any support request if the recorded state remains unclear.
If the order did assign a number, the next question moves to the sending platform: did it reject the number, announce a code, or impose a retry limit? The assigned order cannot tell you why the sender made that choice. Check the number entered and the platform's own guidance before buying another activation.

If assignment succeeds but no SMS appears
The order displays the actual number and expiry. Use the number while that window is open and follow its incoming-message status. An outside platform can still reject its country, type or prior use, or never send a code. Do not mistake the assigned state for confirmed platform acceptance.
When the window ends unanswered, read the order's final state and any account credit under its terms. A no-message cancellation may be available for an eligible waiting order before the first SMS; it is not a universal refund promise. A later order does not guarantee the same number.

Availability questions
Does a directory entry prove the pair is in stock?
No. It is a selectable country or service name. A current offer must confirm stock and price for the exact pair.
If I saw stock earlier, is that number reserved?
No. The offer is a snapshot; assignment happens only after confirmation and can still fail. Recheck the current price and conditions before proceeding.
Does an assigned number mean my verification code will arrive?
No. It confirms a number and active order. The outside service decides whether to accept the number and send an SMS.
Should I switch countries if stock is empty?
Only if the outside platform allows another country. Keep the target service and its rules in view, then check a fresh offer for the permitted pair.
