Start with the time you need
One SMS can complete an immediate step only when Facebook offers SMS to a new number and accepts the assigned line. If your account will need the same phone on a later login, choose a number you can retain. If a code is addressed to a number already attached to an account, a new activation cannot receive that old number’s message.
A new number cannot replace an old destination
When Facebook says it sent a code to a phone already attached to an account, that message goes to the existing number. A fresh SMSTempo activation will not redirect it. Use Facebook’s available account-access or recovery routes for a lost contact instead of repeatedly ordering codes.
Facebook also supports other security methods, including an authenticator app. The choices depend on the account and its current settings. Read the screen to establish whether SMS to a newly supplied phone is actually possible.
Choose the country only for a new-phone prompt
If Facebook invites you to enter a new phone, use the Facebook service filter and a country its form accepts. A shared calling prefix does not make countries interchangeable. Enter the number in the format Facebook requests, respecting any separate country selector.

Observe the order and the Facebook response
A successful activation displays a number and actual expiry. Enter it into the Facebook step that accepts a new phone and request the code there. If Facebook rejects the number before sending, follow its reason. If it reports a sent code, compare the masked destination to the assigned number and inspect the order status before making another request.
Keep a recovery route beyond the order
Meta recommends reviewing account security and keeping recovery information current. For an account you expect to keep, use a contact or authentication method that lasts beyond one activation. If the linked number is already lost, a temporary new number is not a substitute for the official recovery process. Any SMSTempo credit for an unanswered order concerns the purchase outcome, not Facebook account access.
